You don’t have visitors and you don’t have money? No problems!
You don’t have to worry too much. Why? Because everybody and even myself started small like you with a very tiny website that doesn’t have any visitors and as a result, lack the ability to adequately generate traffic generate traffic then.
Many of those people and myself inclusive started with no money too but today the story is different. So this simply means you can get your own fair share of traffic and make money from your site as well if you do the following;
1. CREATE QUALITY CONTENT:
Start with a powerful content strategy. Create content that resonates with your niche, audience and provides real value- This is very important to help you generate organic traffic which is like life itself to your website.
Put into consideration the type of content your audience need (ask them questions if in doubt; to help you know exactly what to craft for them) and when such content is of high benefit and value to them. By so doing, you’re not just solving their problem but also solving it at the time when it’s of utmost importance to your audience and will in turn will increase your Traffic and sales.
Also know that as a smart marketer, you need to focus and approach your audience with the “individual” approach (don’t treat them like a crowd, rather get personal) in order to understand exactly what your audience need and strive to deliver when they need it.
So instead of relying on only ads because you’re low on cash as a ‘newbie’, just promote your content to people who would regularly share information in your industry.
You might as well offer a free product or service to some influencers. If even one takes you up on it, you can get the free advertising and tons of traffic that you so desperately need.
Vary the length and format of your content to make it as appealing and easy to understand and comprehend as possible to different kinds of readers. Not forgetting to also include wonderful graphics and videos where necessary.
Most importantly, your content should have
compelling headlines (if you fail to craft compelling headlines for your posts, it will affect the engagement on it no matter how good the body of the content is; because you have just few seconds to make your first impression).
So think carefully about your headlines before you publish your post in order to drive huge traffic to your site.
2. POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA:
It’s not enough to just share content on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, You tube and WhatsApp (Why? The simple answer is: While all of the above are also some excellent channels to connect to people, don’t forget that they’re nothing but external platforms; and peradventure they crash today, all your traffic, connections and content will go down the drain with them.
You need to be actively involve by participating in community discussions for people to know you and follow you. Also remember to use relevant hashtags.
Make sure you engage (actively) with your readers by answering questions through their comments on your Facebook post and other social media platforms and on your website. Always interact with your audience on personal basis.
It’s worthy of note to reinstate here that: promoting your quality content on social media is one of the best ways to increase traffic on your website.
3. ENSURE YOUR SITE IS FAST AND RESPONSIVE:
Make sure your website is accessible and easy to navigate by visitors to enable them have a comfortable view of your site using different devices ranging from PC’s, tablets, mobile phones (but whatever you do, focus on providing wonderful ‘user experience’ for people on mobile because over 70% of your users/ visitors will be accessing your website via their mobile phones).
The faster your website loads the better so therefore, ensure your pages are as technically optimized as possible, including your page structure, image file sizes and plugins functionalities (don’t mess this up).
4. GUEST BLOGGING/ PUBLISHING:
Getting featured and securing a guest post on a well known and reputable niche blog/ publication will place you as an industry expert in your target audience’s mind.
It’ll give you a massive boost to your online reputation thereby increasing traffic to your website, help build your brand and create more awareness (for you) in terms of your brand image.
Endeavour to invite other people in your niche to guest blog on your own site as well. Because they’re likely to share and link to their guest article, which could also bring new readers to your site. Just make sure you only post high-quality, original and powerful content without spammy links, because low quality guest blogging are usually being cracked down by Google.
5. ADVERTISE
Paid Advertising such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads, display and social media advertising are all brilliant ways of attracting visitors to your site, building your brand and getting your site in front of large number of people.
Remember that more traffic as a result of paid advertising can lead to a massive increase in conversion rate as well as increase sales therefore you’ll need to target high commercial keywords as part of your paid search strategies to acheive your set goals and objectives; failure to do so will cost you money and low turn out (so think about that).
6. INTERVIEW KEY INDUSTRY LEADERS/ EXPERTS:
Send out emails to your top industry leaders and experts requesting an interview and you’ll be shocked and amazed how many people will be willing to talk to you if you asked them after which you publish the interveiw on your website.
The name recognition will not just boost your credibility and increase traffic to your site, the interviewee will probably share the content too on their platform (making you to connect with and reach there audience too) thereby expanding it’s reach further.
7. TARGET KEYWORDS AND SEO:
There are many ways you can increase traffic on your website; paying attention to SEO and targeting keywords is one of them. So search some of the top keywords for your niche.
Ensure you get your high and popular keywords covered at all times not forgetting to also target long-tail keywords as well because it account for majority of website searches so it’s very important for your paid search or SEO when targeting because it’ll boost massive traffic to your site.
8. HOST WEBINARS:
Webinars are great ways to increase traffic to your website. A lot of persons are always willing to learn especially from people with great reputation in a chosen niche as such webinars are an excellent way to impart wisdom to your eagerly waiting audience.
Just send out email at least two weeks ahead of time combined with an effective social media promotion campaign by promoting your webinars widely all over social media and you’ll be glad at the turn out and the increase in traffic to your site.
